Tady je Manasovo

Last year, my friend DV tried to persuade me to help him with the unicycle convention as a English speaking speaker. I’ve avoided that paying the price of dislocated collarbone. But this year I’ve failed to hurt myself. Thank God my skills were not needed that much because I suck as a speaker, you know :-) Who wants to listen my crap speech. Nevertheless I’ve made it there on Friday, to the welcome party. I can’t really remember the night. It was Captain Morgan night. Ouch! I had 19 Morgans on my check, DV had 42. What that means, I really don’t know. But what I know is that you should not fight with kickboxer, even for a fun. It costs me my ankle and couple of bruises. With whom I was arm wrestling, I have no idea. Very funny

Saturday morning, kinda painful after 4 hours of sleep. First fun begins, high jump. Guys did really well, end height was about 100cm. After opening of the trial park everyone left there for training. It was funny sometimes, porno elsewhere. I’ve tried to steal some sleep but unlucky this time. Riders did well. Jump over gap – about 150cm sideways? Drop from about 140cm? Easy. At about 1PM we’ve started the main event – trial. 2 hours to try as much as you can and do it. Rules were easy. There was no jury to observe the obstacles, we’ve relied completely on fair-play. From what I’ve seen it was working. I’ve tried to do as many photos as I could because no words can describe what was possible to do.

What were the obstacles? For example 2 piles of pallets connected by a scaffold tube, about 5m long. Want some more? Telegraph pole that was going from 7 pallets to 2.5 meters high construction? I had problem even to walk on it. It was really tough in the middle of the pole. Well, this obstacle wasn’t surpassed, maybe next year.

At 3PM it was over and we counted the points. Meanwhile another competition was started – long jump. Try to imagine it. You ride as fast as you can on the unicycle and at one point you just jump upwards. Funny? Well, the winner did 265cm this way. Even the girl did over 100cm.

At 5PM we left stadium and headed to pub. There was my time and I had to exhibit a little bit. Not funny. Well, as always the winner had won. Then 2 bands started to play. First one, it was fun, their song: “Butt, Butt. Butt, butt ..” will not be forgotten. Next bands wasn’t fun, they’ve took it really seriously.

Sunday was downhill time. Trail was easy except 2 drops. On the first one Rocco Schulz was trying to prepare the landing in the roots with his ribs. Unsuccessfully. The fastest guys were Slovenians, it was funny how fast they were pedaling. And what about the one girl? She did great! She only lost 6 seconds to the best Czech guy. After the race only the celebration of the winners at the stadium has left and the long way home. DV and his friends had to disassemble those 250 pallets with more than 1000 screws. It was great fun, thanks for the invite.
